Property Info

Glenella is the perfect accommodation venue for Groups.   Glenella is a charming heritage listed building with stylish living areas and comfortable bedrooms.    Glenella was previously run as a Guesthouse, but is now only available as an exclusive rental.  It has been recently refurbished and can now accommodate up to 30 guests in 15 rooms.   

Glenella has a chef style commercial fully equipped kitchen, lounge area with fireplace, various comfortable sitting areas and a sunny verandah overlooking the garden.  Free wi-fi is provided.

The Blackheath village with its wide range of quality café’s is a short stroll away.  And the Blackheath train station in only 5min walk from Glenella.

Notes

Linen

All linen is supplied, including bath towels and face cloths. All beds have an electric blanket.  There are also amenities provided in the bathrooms, such as soap, shampoo and hairdryers.    Ironing boards and irons are available.  Note, we do not provide any room servicing during your stay.  

Heating/Cooling

Each room has it’s own self-controlled heating unit.  Only a few of the Heritage rooms have air-conditioning units, the building rarely requires cooling. 

Meals and Kitchen

No meals are included in the rate.  

A large kitchen is available and is well equipped.  

There is a Nespresso pod machine, a number of coffee presses (plungers) and tea pots.

Caterers are welcomed, but we ask to be advised of any caterers coming on site.   Maintaining the kitchen in a clean state is the responsibility of the guests.   All cleaning supplies are provided as well as dishwashing liquid and dish drying towels. 

Glenella supports local businesses and we encourage our guests to do so too. We can provide a detailed list of caterers as well as restaurant/café’s/stores in the area to enable you to plan a shopping excursion in Blackheath. 

 

Arrival and Departure

Check-in is anytime between 2pm and 7pm.   An earlier check-in can be arranged for an extra fee and subject to availability. 

Check-out is by 11am.  A later check-out can be arranged for an extra fee and subject to availability. 

Parking

5 parking spots are available at the rear of the property.  There is unlimited and untimed parking on the street directly outside Glenella. 

Pets

Pets are not permitted.

 

Visitors and Parties

Maximum of 30 guests including children and infants. 

We permit visitors with prior permission only. A fee may apply.

Parties are permitted as long as appropriately moderated. Decorations are welcomed as long as care is taken not to damage walls and furnishings. 

We ask out of respect to our close neighbours that loud music be turned down after 11pm.

Breakages

We do not ask for a breakages deposit. We do however ask that you advise us of any breakages and if significant cover the cost of repair or replacement. 

 

Cancellation Policy 

• more than 6 months prior to arrival, the cancellation fee is $100.

• between 6 months and 28 days prior to arrival, the cancellation fee is 10%.

• between 28 and 14 days prior to arrival, the cancellation fee is 25%

• between 14 days and day of arrival, there is no refund.

      Date changes are permitted, fees may apply.

 

Payment Schedule

  • 25% deposit required to confirm booking
    • 75% balance to be paid 14 days prior to arrival

 

Payment Process and Methods Accepted

Deposit:  Glenella will prepare a tax invoice for the 25% deposit due, which will be emailed to you.  Payment is required within 7 days.

Final payment: 3 weeks prior to arrival, Glenella will prepare a tax invoice for the balance due (75%), which will be emailed to you.  Payment is required within 7 days.

Payment methods accepted:  bank transfer [EFT] or credit card [Visa or Mastercard + 1% processing fee].

Owners/Managers on Site

Note that we occupy a small flat on the lower floor of the guesthouse.  We have our own entrance at the rear of the property and will not access the guesthouse unless you ask us to.  We do walk through the rear garden to access the garage and workshop from time to time, or work in the garden.
